Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from players of all levels about CourtOracle.

Just talk about your match or practice like you would to a friend. You don't need technical vocabulary. "I kept missing the backhand when the ball came to my hip." "I couldn't hold serve when it mattered." "I lost to a player I expected to beat and I don't know what happened." That language is enough. The six coaching frameworks do the analysis from there.

Download, create an account, press record, and talk. That is the entire setup. There is no equipment, no camera, nothing to configure. After a match, you open the app, tap record, and describe how it went in your own words. The analysis comes back in a few minutes. Most of our 55+ users say it is simpler than they expected.

Download CourtOracle free from the App Store on their device, or ask them to download it. Then purchase the subscription - either $17.99 per 4 weeks, or annual at $117.99. The account is theirs the moment they log in. The whole setup takes under three minutes and they can use it right away.

The cleanest way right now is to download the app on their device and purchase the subscription for them, or purchase it on your own device and hand them the login. Gift subscription links are on the roadmap. In the meantime, the setup is simple enough that most players can do it themselves in under three minutes after you let them know you got it for them.

Birthdays, the start of a new tournament season, end-of-season celebration, or just "I want you to have an edge." It is especially meaningful as a "good luck at regionals" gift for junior players, or a gift to a competitive adult who has talked about wanting to break through to the next rating level. The improvement guarantee makes it feel like a real vote of confidence, not just a gift card.

Yes. Download the app for free, start a subscription, and hand them the account. The app is free to download and available on iOS. The subscription covers everything. If your kid already has an iPhone, they are set up in under three minutes.

No. CourtOracle works from your voice descriptions, not video. It cannot see your strokes, footwork, or physical mechanics from footage. What it can do is analyze the patterns you describe - and at the 3.5-5.0 level, the patterns causing losses are overwhelmingly tactical and mental, not mechanical. If you need video analysis, a teaching pro with video software is the right tool for that.

No - and we don't want it to. CourtOracle is built to work between lessons, not instead of them. Your coach sees you live. We analyze patterns across every match you describe. The players who get the most out of it use it alongside coaching, not as a substitute.

No. CourtOracle is post-match. You record after the match or practice, not during. Real-time in-match coaching is illegal in sanctioned USTA play anyway.

No. CourtOracle is not a fitness or injury tool. It analyzes match patterns, mental game, and tactical tendencies. Physical conditioning and injury prevention are outside its scope.

It is most useful once you have enough of a game to describe patterns - typically NTRP 2.5 and above. If you are brand new, a beginner group clinic will move the needle faster. CourtOracle is designed for players who already play regularly and want to understand why their game isn't progressing the way their effort deserves.
